Saffron Walden & District Riding Club sent it's Junior Hunter Trials team to Aston-le-Walls, Northamptonshire on Sunday 3 June to contest the British Riding Clubs National Hunter Trials Championships.

Having qualified for the Championships back in April with 4 strong performances the same team set off for this competition with confidence. Some the fences that seemed tricky upon walking the course proved to be no trouble at all, however some of the fences that didn't bother our riders proved to be rather more difficult than expected. Laura Birch and 'Donald' had a brilliant round and jumped a storming clear, albeit a little on the quick side. Unfortunately the other members of the team all suffered minor hiccups on their way round, but happily all finished none the worse for wear. Sadly, dispite being one of only a handful of teams to have all four of their riders complete the course, Saffron Walden was not to finish in the ribbons.

However Saffron Walden can hold their heads high in the knowledge that for 2007 they have the best Junior Hunter Trial team in Essex and one of the best in the country!
