As this is the first time this ride has been held we have decided to keep the distance to 10 miles only – which hopefully will encourage more club members to take part.
However it is an interesting 10 miles taking in the Point to Point course at Linton (though not the main race track!) including some optional fences in the small wood on the course in addition to some other optional club jumps positioned along the grassy tracks.
For those who want to walk and lead a child there is a shorter route of about 3 miles
The route also follows part of a disused railway line and passes the Bartlow Hills ancient site. It is mainly on tracks and grass with only a small amount of quiet road work. The ride will start from ‘White Gates’ on the Ashdon – Bartlow road by kind permission of Mr & Mrs T Vesty and on whose land most of the ride will cover.
The route will be fully arrowed and stewards will be positioned at any road crossings.
